Here’s what you should watch before Avengers: Infinity War

There are 7 days till Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War enters our lives and to say that the hype is real, is a goddamn understatement! The excitement levels are high, I mean this has been 10 years in the making. Kevin Feige has been plotting and planning for the last 10 years for this very moment and he is not even stopping any time soon.

Like Tom Holland, that beautiful little cinnamon bun, I don’t know much about the plot of Infinity War because I want to be completely surprised when I watch it. Marvel doesn’t want Tom Holland to know shit because that child is a walking spoiler. But I’ve been avoiding reading theories and such like things in the run up to this event so that it’s all a wonderful surprise.

All I know is that Thanos is up to no good searching for the Infinity Stones so it would be best to brush up on the stones that have already shown up over the last 10 years.

But with just 7 days left there and 18 movies to rewatch, there’s obviously not enough time, well there is if you did nothing else for 7 days straight but you know, life is a thing that happens.

Here are main ones to rewatch before you go see Infinity War.

Captain America: Civil War

If you can only manage one before you go see Infinity War, it should probably be this one. This is the last time all the Avengers were out together and you might need a refresher of where they all stand with each other. It also introduces Spider-Man and Black Panther to the MCU. In Civil War, Vision also talks a bit about the Mind Stone currently lodged in his forehead.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is important to Infinity War, because we learn about the location of the Time Stone and also it helps to watch this movie more than once just to figure out what the hell is up or down.

Thor: Dark World

Y’all this movie is a mess, hands down my least favourite Marvel’s wheelhouse (still better than anything DC’s put out though). But it the only movie that is about the Reality Stone so we must just soldier through.

Thor: Ragnarok

Thor ragnarok

But to make up for that previous one we have Ragnarok up next! I honestly never need a reason to watch this gem but it does remind us about the whereabouts of the Tesseract or the Space Stone. The post-credits scene also directly leads into Infinity War with the Thor and Loki being found by, we assume, Thanos. Also this movie is hilarious and Taika Waititi is a fave so just watch it!

Guardians of the Galaxy

GotG focuses on the Power Stone and how it gives the wielder incredible power like superhuman strength and possibly wiping out an entire planet such by touch.

That’s all the films with the most recent locations of all the Infinity Stones except the Soul Stone which will no doubt make it’s appearance in Infinity War.

But if you have the time these are also great ones to see to fill in the memory gaps.

Black Panther

Do you actually need a reason to go back to Wakanda? Nope! This film gives us more information on King T’Challa as well as some of the other characters you’ll be seeing in Infinity War such as Okoye and Shuri.

How excited are you for Infinity War? I get a little thrill in my chest every time I think about it!

I'm a Star Wars geek living in a Harry Potter world waiting for The Doctor to come around with his TARDIS. You'll find me with a nose in a book or battling LEGO Sauron with my husband on our couch. I was once told I watch too much TV now it's how I make a living ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
